Apollo as god

In mythology, Apollo is one of the most important and many-sided of the Olympian deities. Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and the sun; truth and prophecy; archery; medicine and healing; music, poetry, and the arts. (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo )

It's Always OK to Lie for Your Religion?

GOPer Rep. Kern Accuses Oklahoma ACLU of Reign of Terror

by James Nimmo

(OKLAHOMA CITY) Gay-terrorist-sniffing GOPer Rep. Sally Kern, high from hyper-ventilating her own hot air, is accusing the ACLU Oklahoma affiliate of intimidation. http://repsallykern.com/html/news_details.php?id=40

According to Kern's website (she who communicates with the Founding Fathers from the grave and who thinks "context" are visual aids) the ACLU is asking for a financial accounting of how much Oklahoma tax money and other state-paid resources were used to stage her "morality proclamation" passion play July 2 in the state capitol rotunda. ( http://tinyurl.com/lmhn5p )

Kern's proclamation has been shown to contain invented quotes and out-of-context references in order to sugar-coat and disguise the civil-rights violating intent of her disregard for truth and history in the pursuit of her theocratic dogma. ( http://tinyurl.com/ltxee3 )

If Mrs.Kern really is true to her religious orientation then why does she seem reluctant to provide a financial accounting to the public? Would Mrs. Kern actually lie in order to try and dissolve the First Amendment? Article II, section 5 of the Oklahoma Constitution couldn't be more explicit in disallowing the use of tax money to promote any religious ideology. ( http://oklegal.onenet.net/okcon/II-5.html ) One would think that religious exponents such as Kern and her associates, so adept at splitting hairs and arguing over how many angels dance on pin heads, could understand this very clear language.

The polling company referred to on her website is GOPer controlled and includes a Congressional representative in the partners. ( http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1G1-92865194.html ) If the numbers are correct and Oklahoma does have high church attendance then why is the Kern Krew worried about morality? Why isn't she content with the status quo? Is she so desperate for political power that she can't afford to let one black sheep liberal stray from the fold? Is she so greedy for political power that no dissension from her religious POV is to be allowed?

Has Kern become so demented by denial of diversity in her own family tree that she's lost her bearings? How has obsession with the private lives of total strangers warped her sense of decency? ( http://tinyurl.com/nhetbj ) Is voyeurism a fatal disease?

Let's hope truth and sunlight can be an effective vaccince against Kern's infection of the body politic.

Apprently, at least one of Kern's Krew thinks it's OK to appropriate the Oklahoma governor's signature without permission.

  1. EXCERPT: Hawaii Gay Menace Spurs Bad Marital Law

    Commentary by Ann Woolner

July 10 (Bloomberg) -- Fear of married Hawaiian homosexuals flooding the continental U.S. and demanding marital rights drove Congress in 1996 to pass the misnamed Defense of Marriage Act.

The law in fact attacked a certain kind of marriage pre- emptively. The state Supreme Court in Honolulu appeared poised to make Hawaii the first state to legalize matrimony between couples of the same sex.

Politicians feared that unless Congress did something, even states that detest gay unions would be forced to recognize as wed any Hawaiian same-sex couple who moved in, bringing a marriage license with them.

“The flames of hedonism, the flames of narcissism, the flames of self-centered morality are licking at the very foundations of our society,” warned Bob Barr, then a Republican congressman from Georgia and a chief sponsor of the bill.

(Barr is such a true believer in opposite-sex marriage that he has had three of them.)

    ACLU Investigates Rep. Sally Kern

OKLAHOMA CITY -- State Representative Sally Kern's proclamation for morality is creating new controversy.

Last week protestors for and against squared off at the state capitol as Kern and several other lawmakers signed the document. It calls for a return to Christian principles of many of our founding fathers. It also blames our current economic struggles on a lack of morality.

Now, the American Civil Liberties Union has launched its own investigation into whether or not Kern improperly used state tax dollars to fund her endeavor.
